Martin Luther King Jr.

As we all know Martin Luther King Jr. was an American pastor, activist, humanitarian, and most importantly the leader of the African-American Civil Rights Movement. MLK impacted many lives around the world.King led an unsuccessful struggle against segregation in Albany, Alabama in 1962, and organized nonviolent protests in Birmingham, Alabama, that attracted national attention following television news coverage of the brutal police response. King also helped to organize the 1963 March On Washington, where he delivered his famous “I Have A Dream” speech. There, he established his reputation as one of the greatest orators in American history. I feel that without MLK and what he did to this country us as African Americans will still be facing segregation and way more racial issues than ever before. MLK and other activists like Malcom X, and Rosa Parks saved African Americans from all struggles we were going through at the time.

Mentally, Physically, and Financially Wealthy..

This year I am going to do a whole 360 turn to change myself for the better. This year i’m going to treat people like I want to be treated with more respect, and fix my attitude towards life. But most importantly I want this year to be a huge financial gain for me and my family. I have now came to a realization that I cannot go through life mad at the world and always having this negative energy towards the world because it isn’t healthy for me or the people around me. I want to rekindle old friendships with the people that I lost due to my attitude. and I just want to be happy again because I haven’t been myself in the past two years. And I know with God I could become this better person that i’m striking to be! My goal for 2015 is to become mentally, physically, and financially WEALTHY!

My Blog, Their Blog, Our Blog!

One blog that I found very similar to mines is Baller Alert. Baller Alert is a pop culture blog website that talks about all the popular “Ballers” in the industry. Some similarities that my blog and Baller Alert’s have in common is that we both talk about the most popular celebrities, we talk about violence that goes on in the world, and we have our website set up to only post about the most interesting topics because we don’t want to loose followers. Differences between my blog and Baller Alert’s is that Baller Alert has way more followers than I have, and they also speak upon more topics than I do. They talk about almost everything, and they blog all day everyday. I blog almost once a day.

Some improvements that I want to make to my blog is to have more people to follow my blog and talk about more topics. But my dreams is not to be a blogger, I want to someday be on the bloggers website being blogged about.

Ferguson Is Not Right!

I feel that the government is F#%*$d Up! Yesterday social media went crazy because they charged the Police officer who killed Mike Brown with nothing and they let him free yesterday. I feel like the same thing is going to keep on happening because just 2 years ago was the Trayvon Martin was an innocent bystander killed by a man, and the man was also charged free with nothing. I feel like the judicial system really does have a hate towards African Americans. I feel this way because they’re so quick to lock up our Black males if they were to murder someone but when we are fighting for justice then it’s no justice being served. I hate the way how America is set up because there is no hope for our African American men in justice because I feel like we never win!

I also feel that the government is so worried about putting police out for our protection but they don’t like us neither. I feel like they rather kill us than lock us up, and when I say “us” I mean young African American Males. Honestly, the justice world is already set up to hate African Americans, because there is not one time when a innocent African American person got killed innocently and justice was served.

Popular Chicago Rapper “Lil Durk” Arrested.. Again!

One of my favorite rappers was just recently arrested November 5th, 2014. Lil Durk whose name is Durk Banks is a 22 year old rapper from Chicago, Illinois. He is affiliated with rappers such as Chief Keef, Fredo Santana, Lil Reese, French Montana, Meek Mill and plenty more.

Wednesday morning Lil Durk was arrested in a home in Orland Hills because when the police entered the home they seen Durk with 2 guns in sight on the table, when they asked him why does he have the guns he responded, “I got those guns because niggas always be trying to take my money.” The guns that were found was 2 .45 calibers.

Earlier this year, Lil Durk was also arrested for a gun case. Lil Durk got released from jail a couple days after that. SO i’m guessing that the judge took his side and let him off.

What I Like About Dusable

I have been attending Dusable Leadership Academy since my sophomore year. Now I am a Senior ready to graduate. When I first got here I didn’t like it just because the fact I didn’t want to transfer from my old school, but then I had soon realized that transferring here as the best thing for me because if I would have stayed at my old school I would have got kicked out and end up going to an alternative school. Another reason why I like my school is because there are less students so it’s more hands on to learn better and less challenging.  unnamed
